In this week’s episode of the podcast, we wanted to give un update to Matt’s story. Episode 1 of the podcast has been our most downloaded episode by far. It’s not every day that someone can literally be dead on their kitchen floor and live to tell us that story a year later. Not only has this happened for Matt, but he also has turned his life around 180 degrees. Matt celebrated 1 year of sobriety at the end of October, and we wanted to give an update to his story, kind of a “day in the life” type of episode.
Matt also shares some of the tenets of his recovery program, and the paradigm shift he’s made both mentally and physically. A lot goes into recovery, body, mind, and spirit, and I personally didn’t realize how these programs touch on each of these aspects. I’ve also been blown away by the spiritual side of recovery. Regardless of your religious preferences (or lack thereof), I didn’t realize that the spiritual side of things was so important. It seems silly of me know to not have grasped this, but I’ve never had to go through an ordeal like Matt has.
Much like Matt’s original story, this is a special episode. Hopefully it can act as a beacon to anyone struggling with addiction, and act as a roadmap, to guide people through what may seem like the daunting task of recovery. Enjoy.
